Transformation and renovation of a floor of housing
The project covers the entire floor which consisted of two apartments of 7.5 and 6.5 rooms. The dimensions of these apartments no longer met the needs of the moment and made them difficult to rent. The owner's request was to review the existing condition in order to create an additional apartment. The existing types have the advantage of having two entrances each, the main entrance and the service entrance, but they have the disadvantage of concentrating the technical ducts towards the ends. The project must be able to be organized in such a way as to connect with these existing techniques. Between structural and economic realities, the new organization offers a 4-room apartment, a 4.5-room and 5.5-room apartment. From an architectural point of view, the project remains simple with a reworking of the existing moldings along the new partitions. The choice of colors in shades of gray highlights the varnished oak floors.
